About AWE/Artistri Sud

Founded with the clear mission to respond to the needs of female entrepreneurs in the global South, AWE (formerly Artistri Sud) uses training and coaching programs to teach women to develop their capabilities, create sustainable livelihoods, and become financially autonomous.

These women face many challenges in their efforts to escape poverty.  AWE (Artistri Sud) provides them with concrete tools to help them innovate and market products, with the objective of generating sustainable revenue for their families.

The training teaches the women entrepreneurial and leadership skills essential for running a sustainable micro-enterprise. Topics include product innovation, market development, and strategic approaches to managing uncertainty. AWE (Artistri Sud) is currently working with women in Vietnam, Bolivia, Chile and other countries where families live in acute poverty.

AWE (Artistri Sud) is a registered charity founded in 2009 and based in Montreal.

Our Annual Event: Tales of Triumph Gala

Who will be there?

We expect 200 attendees.  Over 50% are professionals in the finance, banking, consulting and business sectors, most of whom hold an MBA; approximately half of our attendees are drawn from the fields of law, education, or other.  Our community members tend to be highly-educated, well-travelled, and socially engaged, and have a commitment to market-driven solutions to social problems.

What’s the program?

Awards to local Montreal entrepreneurs!

Celebrity guests! Past years have featured celebrity speakers and award winners such as home decorating guru Debbie Travis, The Beat’s wildly successful top-rated radio host Donna Saker, Montreal’s beloved supper-time news anchor, Debra Arbec and more.

In 2017, we introduced a new and very popular Outstanding Supporter of Women’s Entrepreneurship to recognize the importance of male champions of women in business. Marc Beaudet of Turbulent was last year’s winner.

Sponsorship Opportunities

Your contribution is crucial to the evening’s success, our flagship fundraising event of the year, and Artistri Sud’s development. You have two ways of participating in the adventure:

1) BE A SPONSOR

Are you interested in sponsoring our successful Tales of Triumph event, but don’t see a package that suits you?  Please reach out and let’s talk.  partnerships@artistrisud.org.

To learn more details about becoming a corporate sponsor, read our Philanthropic Partnership Proposal.

2) DONATE TO OUR SILENT AUCTION

If you have a product or service that you would like to donate to our silent auction, we would love to talk!

Also, we are looking for gifts of services or products for our women entrepreneur award winners and runners-up.  These gifts are promoted widely and well in advance as they help entice quality applications for our annual awards.

All donations accepted for the silent auction are acknowledged on our Facebook page and website, and business cards or a flyer can be displayed next to their items the day of the event.

Our Impact

Organizations like the World Bank, Unicef, and UN Women all agree that supporting women has exponential positive effects on their families and their communities. By empowering women to lift themselves from poverty, they have a chance to buy their own homes, send their children to school, and ensure a better, more secure future. These improvements feed back into a system of positive change, leading to widespread improvements in the status of women throughout the word. In this way, our entrepreneurship training truly changes the word, one woman at a time. More about Our Impact.

Contact us at the following address partnerships@artistrisud.org should you wish to be part of the adventure.

Thank you!
