A Journey to Malawi: A Heart Full of Hope
One such inspiring mother is Lucy from Malawi. A hardworking farmer who grows onions, soybeans, sunflowers, and peanuts, Lucy dreams of a better future for her children. Despite earning just over $300 last year from her farm, her goals are far greater. Lucy is a loving and devoted mother who wishes the best for her two children. She dreams of giving them the chance to attend school, knowing how important education is for their future. As it stands, she is unable to afford the opportunity for them. This fall, Lucy will be joining AWE’s entrepreneurship program, where she’ll receive valuable training, mentorship, and community support. With AWE's help, she’s not only growing crops—she’s growing opportunities.

They welcomed us with open arms and shared their stories of determination and resilience. These women are not waiting to be saved—they are ready to seize opportunities that allow them to lift themselves and their families out of poverty.
