But with progress towards gender equality moving at a slow pace—estimated to take until 2158 to reach full parity—we must act now. It’s time to accelerate action.

Eli, from Artistri Sud, found her true calling as a leader, becoming a powerful force in her community. In her own words, “I have changed my destiny. I am the change that I want to see.” Her transformation is the heart of AWE Global—empowering women to build better futures for themselves and those around them.
The Power of Women Entrepreneurs
From small businesses to large-scale enterprises, women entrepreneurs are proving that economic independence is a game-changer. Women like Phan Ta May and Sung Thi Lan remind us that “every challenge is an opportunity to learn and grow.” Whether in textiles, fintech, or cooperative businesses, they are breaking barriers and forging new paths for success. At AWE, we are committed to supporting women as they turn their dreams into reality.
Strength in Community and Leadership
Empowerment is not just about personal success—it’s about creating supportive networks that uplift entire communities. Nguyen Thi Mai Hong highlights this beautifully: “An empowered woman is knowledgeable and capable within her own field of expertise; she is also confident, persevering, and daring to do what she wants without being affected by others’ opinions.” Women like Guadalupe, leading a network of 58 women, show that when women stand together, they protect one another and create opportunities for all. “When men see you are being supported, they can't abuse you.”
Ecuadorian Women Leading Change
From Ecuador, we see incredible examples of resilience and innovation:
Charo built a successful chocolate brand, turning her passion into a thriving business. “I have learned to say WOW in what I do, to surprise my customers.”
Nedelka embodies leadership, balancing objectivity and emotion to drive change in her community. “I strive for objectivity, balancing it with appropriate emotional engagement. I champion empowerment by focusing on actionable change and personal development, informed by the principles of mindful listening."
Mayra found confidence through entrepreneurship, learning the power of decision-making. “I saw that I was a capable person. It helped me change at home, to make decisions, to say NO.”
Zulma leads with innovation, introducing healthier, sustainable food products and collaborating with others to strengthen her business. “With this vision, we are moving forward."

At the current pace, achieving gender equality is five generations away. That is unacceptable. We must take swift and decisive action to remove barriers and biases that hold women back.
